Winter wonderland in bid to raise £50,000 for cancer charity

PART of a Ballynahinch estate is to be transformed into a winter wonderland in a bid to raise £50,000 for charity.

The Cancer Fund for Children is to create the magical Christmas setting at the Montalto estate for another black tie gala ball which last year raised £50,000 for the charity.

The ball will take place at The Carriage Rooms on December 9 and will include a champagne reception, a four course meal, fine wine and the opportunity to win many fabulous prizes.

Providing the music will be Newcastle’s Finbarr Keaveney and the Booze Brothers Band.

The Cancer Fund for Children, one of Northern Ireland’s top cancer charities, runs the Daisy Lodge short break centre in Newcastle. The centre’s hospitality manager, Joan Burden, is looking forward to the gala ball.

“Last year, 120 people from across Northern Ireland attended the event and raised over £50,000 to support local children living with cancer,” said Joan.

“We want to raise the same this year, if not more, so we can continue to help local families who have been affected by a childhood cancer diagnosis,” she added.

Tickets for the Winter Wonderland ball are priced at £150 per person, or £1,500 for a table of ten.
