Tollymore Forest Park voted top picnic spot

TOLLYMORE Forest Park has been named Northern Ireland’s top picnic area.

The local park, which won the award in an online competition launched by the retailer Centra in partnership with Tourism NI, beat off competition from other locations including the Giant’s Causeway and St Columb’s Park in County Derry.

The competition called on people to share their favourite picnic spots, from hidden gems to nostalgic childhood spots, current favourites and scenic

locations.

Centra manager Nikki McDowell said Tollymore Forest Park had proven a popular choice among voters and captures what is great about Northern Ireland.

As a picnic spot it offers so much including great location, lots of activities with stunning scenic views and is a great family favourite.

“With the support of Tourism NI, we will continue the search for more top spots and encourage everyone to get involved by sharing what they love about Northern Ireland,” she said.
