EAST Down Amateur Boxing Club’s end of season presentations took place in the Villager restaurant, Crossgar.

There were 13 awards presented across four categories of the club’s membership.

In the underage category (6-11 years) the Best Contest of the Year award went to John Spratt. Best Prospect of the year was Emmett O’Donnell. The Most Improved boxer was Benn Brown, while the Best Boxer award went to Oisin Mulholland.

Boy category (11-14 years): Best contest of the Year, Tommy McConville; Best Prospect of the Year, Niall Bell; Most Improved Boxer , Eoin Mulholland; Best Boxer: Dean Kayes.

Youth category (15-18 years): Most Improved Boxer, James Gibson; Best Boxer: Ross Moore.

Best Girl Boxer: Tammy-Lee Rogan.

East Down Club Person of the Year: Rory Anderson.

East Down Boxers’ Boxer of the Year: Niall Bell.

All other members received a medal and certificate for their improvement in boxing skills for their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

The club officials would like to thank the Villager for putting on a splendid finger buffet on the night, all the parents who took the time to attend and all involved during the year that helped bring the success and enjoyment for so many young people associated with the club.

Pre –season training will start on Monday, August 20.
