The Leading Ladies on their way to Downpatrick for party

26 September 2018

AWARD-WINNING singing sensations, The Leading Ladies, return to Down Arts Centre as part of their 15th anniversary celebrations.

Their highly acclaimed Country and Celtic Classics show will be performed on Saturday, October 20.

It features some of the best country songs ever written, from artists including Dolly Parton, John Denver and Patsy Cline, as well as popular folk songs such as Caledonia and Will ye go Lassie go, and of course traditional Irish favourites.

A unique fusion of country and folk music, sensational harmonies and some glamour, The Leading Ladies are an audience favourite.

Michelle Baird, Ceara Grehan and Lynne McAllister, each accomplished solo performers, have payed lead roles in many major theatres, winning the AIMS coveted award for Best Female Singer in Ireland three times between them.

Offering fun, glamour, inimitable vocal arrangements and close harmony style, their talent has been winning critical acclaim amongst audiences and critics, along with requests to perform at prestigious venues across the UK and Ireland including Belfast Grand Opera House, Waterfront Hall, Odyssey Arena, Dublin’s National Concert Hall, Buxton National Opera House, NEC Birmingham and Royal Horseguards London.

Lynne said: “We’re excited about bringing our newest show to Down Arts Centre as it’s music we really love to sing. I personally am looking forward to the event as my husband’s family, The Trainors, hail from Downpatrick.

“We feel very blessed to have had such great, ongoing support from our audiences and hope that it continues and people enjoy our show as much as we do.”
