Sun shines on successful Saintfield Horse Show

19 August 2015

CROWDS flocked  to enjoy the annual Saintfield Horse Show at Tyrella House on Saturday.

Multi-winning race Cheltenham horse trainer Noel Chance judged the Downpatrick Race Horse to Riding Horse class along with Ann Ferris who was the first lady to win the Irish Grand National.

Noel, who has won two Cheltenham Gold Cups had his hopes dashed that he might win the Delaney’s Musical Donkeys when he fell trying to get his donkey to move.

The North Down Hounds put on a wonderful display and everyone watching was delighted to be invited into the ring to stroke the hounds.

All sections of the show were very well supported.

Show Director Joan Cunningham was delighted with the success of the whole day and thanked David Corbet for the use of his magnificent venue, all the competitors, judges, sponsors, stewards, St John’s Ambulance, Country Harmony and Box Car Brian for the fantastic music in the Marquee, as well as her own team who worked so hard to keep things running smoothly.
