THE life of a young soldier tragically killed while serving in Afghanistan has been remembered by teenage cadets at Ballykinlar where his regiment, 2 RIFLES, is based.
Lance Corporal Peter Eustace deployed to Afghanistan as a mortar fire controller with Delhi Company of 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment attached to Combined Force Nahr-e Saraj (North) in Helmand province.
He was killed by an improvised explosive device on November 16 last year while conducting a joint patrol with his company and the Afghan National Army.
As a mark of respect the
cadets at Ballykinlar have planted a tree at the base, where Peter was based.
