Soccer camps at Drumaness

29 July 2020

THREE weeks of soccer fun camps at Drumaness Mills FC have got off to a flying start with nearly 100 players taking part.

The camp involve younger players in the morning and the older players in the afternoon on the glorious surface of Meadowvale.

The partnership between Drumaness Youth and the IFA has already been a success and over 100 players have registered for the second week.

Head of youth at the Mills Darren McQuoid is delighted with the current developments.

He said: “Our relationship with our local IFA representative has put us in a fantastic position which enables us to deliver football camps especially in this current climate were players have been starved of football for months.

“Our village is buzzing at the minute and we are also pleased with the interest created from beyond Drumaness.”

As football came to a sudden halt months ago the delivery of football camps in Drumaness has been like a breath of fresh air to the quiet village.

Local player and coach Rory Mason is certainly enjoying passing on his expertise to all the players.

He said: “During lockdown I have been busy with other players from the Mills painting the changing rooms, etc, and now it is a pleasure to be coaching the future players of the local area and hoping that some make our first team soon.

“It has also been a pleasure working closely with other IFA coaches as we all learn from each other which then benefits all the players.”

It is not too late to book. Contact Darren McQuoid on 07754 155433.
