A DOWNPATRICK barman has proved he is one of the best.
Mark Stitt, who works at the Quoile Tavern, finished runner-up in the recent Heineken Star Serve Awards at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena.
The Downpatrick man was among over 100 bar staff from pubs throughout Northern Ireland who battled it out for the top prize, with Mark delighted with his second-place finish.
Up against some of the most talented bar staff in the industry, Mark finished second behind Seamus Fischer from The Railway Arms in Coleraine.
Over 2,500 bar staff and trade supporters attended four regional award ceremonies in Belfast, Cork, Limerick and Dublin and now four finalists remain in contention to represent the island of Ireland.
The Irish National Star Serve Champion will go on to represent both the island of Ireland and their pub to compete for the ultimate global title in Amsterdam.
