Sinn Fein lead the way in South Down

3 March 2017

SINN Fein is set to become the largest party in South Down.

With counting well underway at the Lagan Valley count centre, Sinn Fein officials are confidently predicting they will, for the first time, take the title of largest party.

Last May the Republican Party was just 155 votes short of the SDLP but with Chris Hazzard polling very strongly in this election, and running mate Sinead Ennis also polling well, the party is looking odds on to take on the mantle of biggest party.
