THE hilarious Sam Cree comedy, Stop it Nurse, will be performed in Dundrum Parochial Hall next month.

The play, which will be performed by Dundrum GAC in association with Dundrum Community Theatre Group, will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 14-16. Doors open at 7.30pm and the curtain goes up at 8pm.

The comedy is set in a men’s surgical ward in which two opposing football supporters are resident. Add to this the scornful Sister, the playful nurse Freda, the eccentric spinster and hospital visitor Miss Cherry and a few other hilarious characters such as the wrestler Mad McGurk, Bert’s wife Martha and his bit on the side Dolores, and there is a recipe for hilarious madness and mayhem.

The cast list is: Bert Rice — Paddy Totton; Harold McKibben — Cushla McKibbin; Freda Ferguson — Louise Greene; Ward Sister — Paula Kearney; Nurse Holmes — Cormac Venney; Sammy Smyth — Paddy Rice; Felix Cochrane — Donal Brennan; Miss Cherry — Cushla McKibbin; Phyllis Russell — Clare Murnin; Dolores Maxwell — Donna Smyth; Mad McGuirk — Martin Walsh; Commentator — Cormac Venney.

The play is directed by Clare Murnin and the set is being created by Rab Smyth and Martin Walsh. Costumes are under the supervision of Paula Kearney, sound is by Seamus Garland and Peter McVerry is the MC.

Tickets are £6 and there will be a raffle and refreshments during the interval.
