Santas galore in Saintfield ride

HUNDREDS of Santas took to the streets of Saintfield on horseback on Saturday for the annual Christmas charity ride. Organised by Joan Cunningham, the Santas who took part were not put off by the cold weather, nor were the many well-wishers who lined the streets to watch the process.

The ride arrived in Saintfield led by the ‘real’ Santa and Sarah Travers, of UTV, who was filming the event for her show, The Magazine. The programme will be shown o Monday, December 15.

After the ride lunch was served in the marquee and everyone was entertained once again by live Christmas music and plenty of craic from Terence McKeag.

Sarah Travers presented the prizes for the best dressed Santas which was judged earlier in the day by Alastair McIlveen, of North Down Marquees.
