CHLOE Galloway from St. Brigid’s Primary School, Downpatrick, and Caoilin Quinn from Our Lady and St. Patrick’s, Downpatrick, ran sublime races in dreadful conditions to win their sections of the Down District Council Cross Country Challenge at Delamont last Friday.
Chloe defied the mud bath to pip Holy Family Primary School’s Caoimhe-Grace McDonnell with All Children’s Integrated Eve Kenneally third.
Caoilin pipped Josh Faulkner from St. Mary’s, Newcastle, to top spot in the boys’ race with Michael Beattie from Holy Family third.
All Children’s Integrated won the team event with 37 points, Cedar Integrated were second with 43 points, Holy Family were third with 71 points and St. Joseph’s, Carnacaville, fourth with 106 points.
Cedar Integrated won the boys’ race with 38 points, Our Lady and St. Patrick’s were second with 54 points.
Holy Family were third with 61 points and St. Mary’s, Newcastle, fourth with 75 points.
