COMBER Rotary Club recently donated £850 to Cancer Fund for Children, bringing the total raised  by the organisation since 2002 to almost £27,000.

Club president, Roy Ramsay, who handed over the money recently to charity representative Natasha Walsh, said he was delighted to have this “fantastic sum” raised by rotarians acknowledged by the Cancer Fund for Children.

He explained the money was raised at a number of fundraising events during the year, including

the Remembrance Tree at Christmas and young musicians competition, as well as members taking part in the Cancer Fund for Children’s winter woolly walk.

The money raised by the Rotary Club will help the charity continue to provide support for local families affected by cancer, with the charity’s community fundraiser, Ana Wilkinson, thanking everyone for their efforts and generosity.

She explained every week in Northern Ireland, three children, teenagers and young adults are diagnosed with cancer.
