Romanian orphanage group planning ball to mark Valentine’s Day

18 January 2012

THE Downpatrick Romanian Orphanage committee will host a fundraising Valentine’s ball at Ballydugan Mill on February 11.

Tickets are £22.50 per person to include a champagne reception, a three-course meal, and dancing to Stuart Wilcox.

Based on the success of last year’s event, tickets are expected to sell out quickly therefore anyone interested in attending is advised to book early to avoid disappointment. All proceeds will go directly to the St. Patrick House Orphanage in Romania.

Over the past six years over £50,000 has been raised through a range of fundraising activities and donations from local groups.

This has provided and is maintaining a home for over 35 orphans and their house parents and also funding a day school for those children in the greater area who do not have access to any other form of education.

The committee appreciates the generosity of the people of Downpatrick area and thank those who have supported fundraising in the past and continues to support efforts. Tickets can be purchased by contacting 07712 508637.

The ball will begin at 7.30pm.
