Roisin raises £2,000 and her hair for charity

6 March 2013

A DOWNPATRICK woman has raised over £2,000 — by shaving her head for charity.

The Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children is the beneficiary following the event, which took place in St. Mary’s High School and was well supported by its students.

Roisin Mohan is also preparing for the ultimate road trip to Mongolia, in aid of homeless charity Homeplus NI Ltd and environmental charity Cool Earth.

With 10,000 miles of travel ahead of her, through remote terrain, and in a very modest car, Roisin is taking part in the 2013 Mongol Rally.

Joined by friends Elaine Taylor and Aoife Raleigh, their team is called the Taillte Tank Girls.

A fundraising night for the rally will be held in Downpatrick Cricket Club on Saturday, March 16, which will be a Night at the Races.

The evening kicks off at 8pm. For more information visit their website www.ttgmongol.com.
