Residents in Crossgar urged to attend AGM of community group

1 January 2013

THE Crossgar Community Association is holding its annual general meeting next week.

The January 10 event will be held in the town’s community centre in Downpatrick Street at 7.30pm and open invitation is extended to people in the village to attend.

Association chairman, Mr. Paul Teggart, hopes as many people as possible will attend the meeting.

“It will provide an opportunity for people to hear about the work that has been done over the past few months in the village and what plans are being drawn up for the future,” he explained.

“We are very fortunate to have committed and dedicated members who have the needs and interests of Crossgar and its residents at heart.”

Mr. Teggart said one of the major issues the group is concentrating its efforts on is the provision of a new community/sports facility in the village. “The proposal has widespread support and it is a facility which the village requires.”

Ahead of next week’s annual meeting, Mr. Teggart is inviting anyone interested in joining the group or who is interested in any of its positions including chairman, secretary or treasurer, to contact philipirvine@btinternet.com.

Expressions of interest in letter form, marked c/o of the community association, can be left at Crossgar Post Office. All communications must be submitted before January 10 and include an email address or contact details.
