THE Red Arrows aerobatics display team is making a surprise visit to Newcastle this Saturday afternoon.
The distinctive RAF jets are scheduled to roar overhead shortly after 2pm as part of a special fly past ahead of their big appearance in the resort at the Festival of Flight in Newcastle in August.
The Red Arrows will be in Northern Ireland this Saturday and plan to fly over Newcastle on their way home to RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire.
Down Council events officer, Ann Moreland, said the finishing touches are currently being put to the Festival of Flight programme and is confident visitors to the resort for the spectacular air show will be wowed with the many sights and sounds of some spectacular aircraft.
She added: “We are very proud that the Red Arrows will be taking part in a fly past over the resort this Saturday afternoon. The display team is expected at 2.07pm.”
