FINNEBROGUE Artisan is housed in what is instantly recognisable as a huge industrial building, but as owner Denis Lynn explains, it is so much more than that.
The entrance foyer is full of vibrancy and life thanks to stunning photos of the Finnebrogue estate which adorn the walls and which are illuminated by light box technology.
The technology backlights already stunning images with those in the entrance foyer and throughout the building on walls and ceilings — which generated much debate during last week’s official opening — taken by Down Recorder photographer Philip Kelly.
Mr Lynn said he was conscious while constructing a big industrial building, the last thing he wanted to do was lose the importance of the nearby Finnebrogue estate where the business was launched and where its venison plant remains.
“I did not want to lose the importance of Finnebrogue when we built this processing plant at the Down Business Centre. I did not want to lose what Finnebrogue is and how it makes people feel,” he explained.
“I asked Philip over a period of several months to take photos of all the lovely places everyone loves to go to in Finnebrogue which is just a cracking place. We then brought the photos back and put them up on light boxes so no one forgets who we are and that is important.”
Mr Lynn said Philip’s breathtaking images give life to the building and help transform it from an industrial factory into what he described as a “foodie place.”
He continued: “Philip’s photos are superb and while people talk about light box technology, a lot of the time they do not know really what they are talking about. When you marry the technology with Philip’s photos the results are simply stunning.
“When you look at his images and their scale it makes you think you are actually standing in Finnebrogue and I believe what we have done here will be replicated in other industrial buildings, universities and head offices because you can create so much character and that is exactly what Philip has done for us.”
Paying tribute to Philip’s professionalism, Mr Lynn added: “His images provide this building with vibrancy and say a lot about who we are. We are all delighted with the high standard of work Philip has produced for us.”
