Ninja Challenge to be the highlight of birthday bash

9 September 2015

HOME-Start is celebrating its 25th birthday in Down District this weekend with a big bash in the park.

Over the last 25 years the charity has supported 3,763 families and 9,067 children and they are all invited to come along and help them celebrate this Sunday in Donard Park in Newcastle.

There will be activities for all ages from carousels for babies and toddlers through to bungee trampolining and laser tag for the teenagers. In addition there will be a host of free activities from puppet shows to moth identification workshops.

The centrepiece though will be the Ninja Challenge where teams from across the district will battle it out in a giant foam and water battle in Donard Park to be crowned Ninja Challenger of Down District.

Rival teams dressed in tutus, will compete in a bunch of super-sized games that get the adrenaline pumping and party atmosphere going. Throughout the afternoon, there will be various games and heats leading up to the grand finale and prizegiving ceremony in the afternoon.

There will be plenty of funny props, costumes and inflatables with games based on the original BBC TV event.

Dorothy McMullan, Senior Organiser, said it’s not too late to sign up, simply take a look at the Facebook page or phone Dorothy on 07590 849280.
