Newcastle hotel picks up top prize at ceremony

THE Slieve Donard Resort and Spa has been voted Hotel of the Year at the recent Licensed and Catering News awards.

The award at the prestigious event in Belfast’s Europa Hotel, which allows the hospitality industry to recognise its peers, is the third major award in a year.

Stephen Meldrum, General Manager at the Slieve Donard, said he was delighted at the latest accolade.

“We are thrilled to have received this prestigious award,” he said. “It’s the result of a real team effort, with everyone at the hotel dedicated to always creating the best possible experience for our guests.

“It comes just months after having won the esteemed Supreme Winner Award and best Four Star hotel in Ireland at the Irish Hotel and Catering Gold Medal Awards in the autumn last year.”
