NEWCASTLE’S River House has received a prestigious honour.

It has been voted the best kept health and social care facility in the south eastern region in this year’s Northern Ireland Amenity Council awards.

The award was presented to delighted staff members at a recent presentation ceremony by Stormont Health Minister Edwin Poots who praised River House for its commitment to the health and well-being of service users and staff.

The prestigious awards, sponsored by SuperValu, recognise facilities that are maintained to the highest environmental standard, with almost 100 health and social care premises across Northern Ireland entering this year’s competition.

Mr. Poots said he applauded River House and all the other winners for putting so much effort into maintaining and improving their indoor and outdoor spaces.

“The awards highlight the hard work of health and social care teams, along with their clients, as it is very often a joint effort, and their commitment to making the very best of their shared surroundings,” he said.
