New minister installed at Rademon Church

THE ordination and installation service of Dr Heather Walker as the new minister of Rademon Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church, Crossgar took place in the Listooder Road meeting hall on Saturday afternoon.

Dr Walker is a mother-of-one from Carrickfergus and the daughter of the Rt Rev Colin Campbell, the Moderator of the Non-Subscribing denomination.

A large congregation was present for the special service, which was conducted by Rev Chris Wilson, Moderator of the Presbytery of Bangor.

The robed procession of clergy was carried out by Presbytery of Bangor representatives and representative elders of Rademon’s sister churches, led by Session members from Rademon.

The service of ordination and installation carried out by Rev Wilson was assisted by Rev Dr David Speers of Downpatrick, Rev Ian Gilpin and Rev Brian Moodie.

The Rademond church choir sang ‘The Introit in the Garden’ as an entrance hymn with the anthem ‘Who Can Cheer The Heart’ which was accompanied by Mrs Jean Montgomery.

The hymn service was accompanied by guest organist Jordan Wilson from the Church of Dromore, who is the grandson of the late Rev Samuel Peden, who Rev Dr Walker is replacing.

The ure was read by Ivan Nelson, Clerk of Rademon Session and Elizabeth Moore, Women’s League President.

After speeches and presentation of gifts, an afternoon tea, provided by the Rademon Ladies, was enjoyed by all present.
