Murder mystery at museum and hotel

9 May 2012

A POPULAR Murder Mystery Night is returning to Down County Museum and Denvir’s Hotel.

On Friday, May 11, participants are invited to step back in time and meet the many characters at large in the old gaol and to find out which of them has a motive for murder.

The scene is set for the annual inspection of the gaol, an event which brings together a host of gaol staff, prisoners and citizens of the town, and reveals dangerous liaisons and crooked dealings which participants must investigate and uncover to earn their dinner.

A detective is called in and will be at hand to assist those who wish to unlock secrets, search for clues at the scene, question suspects in the cells and unravel the truth behind a shocking and mysterious murder.

All will be greeted with a sparkling wine reception at the Museum, courtesy of Denvir’s Hotel and after the key scenes and investigations, the assembly will proceed to Denvir’s Hotel where evidence will be gathered and ruminated on over a fine dinner.

After this the groups assigned to the case will submit their evidence and make the case for the prosecution. At this point the judge, fresh from his lodgings next to the gaol, will make his judgement and sentence the villain.

The event starts at 7pm and tickets are on sale at the museum reception. Telephone 028 4461 5218 to book places. Tickets are £20, including dinner at Denvir’s.
