THE public is being asked to vote for the best view in the British Isles, with the Mourne Mountains among the shortlisted sights.
Famous for its beautiful countryside, from the Scottish Highlands and the Welsh mountains to the south coast and the quiet beaches of Northumberland and East Anglia, The Countryman magazine is attempting to crown Britain’s best view.
Voters have the chance to pick from a a host of stunning views, including the Mournes, the Isle of Skye, Snowdonia, the Malvern Hills and Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, but people are also free to contribute ideas.
Countryman editor, Mark Whitley, said that for nearly 90 years, the magazine has focused on the beautiful British countryside “and now we cannot wait to find out what people think is Britain’s best view”.
Voting closes on New Year’s Eve with the results announced in the magazine’s March issue. To vote, log on at www.countrymanmagazine.co.uk/bestview.
