Monster truckers for Newcastle

Monster truckers for Newcastle

27 June 2012

THE Mourne Car and Truck Show returns to Newcastle’s Donard Park next Saturday, July 7.

Organised by the Friends in the Mountains Fundraising Group, the event is shaping up to be even busier than last year, with all proceeds going to the

Mourne Mountain Rescue Team.

Alongside the expected modern and vintage cars and trucks are new categories of tractors and Land Rovers.

In a change to this year’s programme, there will be a Land Rover pull instead of a lorry pull, with teams of four or six competing against the clock or each other over a distance of 100 metres.

Entertainment during the fundraiser includes bouncy castles, inflatable slides, a rodeo bull and much more, as well as a variety of trade stands and food stalls.

New for this year is a trial bike stunt demonstration, with a team of professional riders from Banbridge performing stunts throughout the day for the enjoyment of spectators. The event will finish with a cavalcade of all vehicles from Donard Park through Newcastle.
