TOLLYMORE United held their annual presentations night at O’Hare’s Lounge Bars on Saturday evening with players from the first, second, ladies and U-17 teams in attendance.

Unfortunately, a number of players and club officials were unavailable due to work and other commitments, but a pleasant night was had by all.

Indeed, the older players were able to join up with the Welsh veterans who were in O’Hare’s following their game with Northern Ireland.

With chairman John McIlvenny unavailable, and missing his first presentations night since the club was formed in 1989, the secretary Andy Hall said a few words.

Andy thanked the players and the two managers for their commitment last season and suggested that despite it being a difficult year it had nevertheless been beneficial in terms of giving players valuable experience of playing in the Newcastle League’s Premier Division.

He also outlined the clubs plans for the new season and suggested that it might be worth holding an information evening, with a power point presentation to gauge members’ views on the future direction of the club.

New first team manager, Philly McGrattan, then said a few words thanking the players for their efforts throughout the year and telling them that it would not be long until pre-season training.

Philly said he was already looking forward to the new season and hoped to build on the progress that had been made over the last few months in terms of player development.
