A GOAL apiece from the McComiskey brothers, Paul and David, went a long way in sealing an important win for Dundrum.

After crashing to defeat against Aughlisnafin last week, the Duns needed a positive reaction and they got it in the form of an 11-point winning margin.

St Michael’s led 0-3 to 0-2 after a quarter of an hour. Chris Brady was causing all sorts of bother as he had himself two from play with Eamon Lynch scoring a free. Kieran Walsh and Paul McComiskey replied with set-pieces for the Duns.

Dundrum began to up the pace of the game at this stage and their attacking promptings were rewarded when Paul McComiskey netted after being set up by John Hurley.

The Reds then pushed on and out scored the Magheralin men 0-3 to 0-01 to take a four-point lead into half-time.

Chris Brady brought the deficit back to three on the restart, but a David McComiskey major shortly after effectively sealed the Duns’ superiority.

Two Eamon Lynch frees gave the Saints slight hope, but they were outfought 0-8 to 0-1 for the remainder of the tussle as Dundrum sailed to victory.

Kieran Walsh led Dundrum to glory from the middle third with veterans Johnny McMullan and Martin Coughlan impressive in this area too.

Eamon King was efficient in goal while Conor McShane, Conn Rooney and John Hurley defended brilliantly with David McComiskey and Paul Rooney lively up top.

Best for St. Michael’s were Brendan Marsden, Eamon Lynch and Chris Brady.
