Little Faith celebrates birthday as Petite Miss NI winner

THIS is little ‘Petite Miss NI’.

Faith Richardson, who celebrates her fifth birthday today, won the crown as part of the Junior Miss NI competition.

The Ballynahinch youngster was competing in the four to six year-old category at Saturday’s event which was held in the Loughshore Hotel, Belfast, and was organised by Models and Pageants UK.

Faith’s mum, Nicola Hunter, said she was encouraged by the comments of friends who thought Faith could be a model.

“I saw the advertisement for the event on Facebook and I had to send a full length and up close face photo to get through into the finals,” she said.

“There were four different themes — style yourself, recycled materials, back in time and evening wear. She was under five so she did not have to give an interview. She had to do a catwalk and said the best thing was winning and getting a crown on her head.”

Nicola said Faith, a pupil at Drumlins Integrated Primary School, would hold the crown for two years.

“It was a real confidence booster,” she added.
