Irish title for Drumaness pair

15 April 2015

DRUMANESS Mills Snooker Club duo Raymie McAllister and Darren Dornan were part of the Ulster team which won the Irish Interprovincial Championships in Carlow.

The pair where part of a five-man team, which McAllister had the honour of captaining, and they were up against some of the best players in Ireland.

The other teams competing were Munster, Leinster, Connacht and a select team from Dublin.

The tournament was last held in 2002 and it was a great team performance which enabled them to bring the trophy home to Ulster.

The Drumaness players have represented Northern Ireland in both snooker and billiards.

Last year McAllister reached the final of the NI Snooker Championships and was beat by Patrick Wallace, who was a professional for 20 years.

He was also a member of the winning NI team that travelled to Belgium for an invitational tournament against Belgium, France and the Republic of Ireland. Dornan has been successful in billiards and has held NI and All-Ireland titles.
