In memory of gentle Neville

In memory of gentle Neville

28 June 2017

RELATIVES of a Downpatrick man, who was a former resident at the Slievegrane supported living facility in the town, have presented staff with a cheque for £1,250.

Neville Fitzsimmons, who was held in very high esteem by everyone he met, passed away suddenly in June 2015. He lived at the Slievegrane facility for several years and his family members have worked hard to raise awareness around mental health.

Neville’s daughter, Stacy Hamilton, ran the Edinburgh half marathon and with the help of family and close friends was able to raise the money handed over recently to Slievegrane deputy manager Angela McKeever.

The Fitzsimmons family, particularly Neville’s mother Anne, would like to thank everyone for their generous donations and continued love and support.

They say the support Slievegrane provided over the years helped Neville move forward and are very grateful for this service. Neville was particularly interested in gardening and spent some time helping maintain the gardens around the Ardglass Road facility. Some of the money donated by his relatives will be used to plant a tree in his memory.
