BALLYNAHINCH fifths reclaimed the McCambley Cup at Kingspan Stadium when James McBriar lifted the trophy following victory over Omagh fourths.

However, Michael Evans and the Ballynahinch fourths lost their grip on the Forster Cup as they narrowly lost out to a strong CIYMS seconds team on a damp afternoon in East Belfast.

The fifths have been on a mission all season, after a poor performance in last year’s final against Ballymena, and they were pushed all the way by a determined Omagh outfit.

They used all their experience and guile to win by seven points, despite missing a few regulars due to injury and the holiday weekend.

The fourths took an early lead and held on to their advantage at the interval, before a seesaw second half went the way of their opponents.

The Ballymacarn men went behind and fought back to lead by a point, only for two late CIYMS tries to end a gallant defence of a trophy that was won in style last season.

Congratulations to everyone in a ‘Hinch jersey on their performances at Kingspan and throughout another successful season.
