Health trust wins major award

31 May 2017

THE South Eastern Trust has been presented with a prestigious health award.

Responsible for the Downe, Ulster and Lagan Valley hospitals, the organisation has been named one of the top performing organisations of its kind in the annual CHKS awards.

The awards recognise and reward the best performing CHKS client trusts across the UK, based on the evaluation of 22 indicators of clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care. The indicators are revised annually to take into account any newly-available performance information.

South Eastern Trust Director of Hospital Services, Seamus McGoran, said the award is a “tribute to our staff who work tirelessly to deliver excellent and compassionate care.”

Andy Lockwood, managing director, Capita Healthcare Decisions, said the annual awards recognise outstanding performance in those areas which are critical to delivering good patient care.

He added: “We are delighted that the South Eastern Trust is one of our Top Hospitals 2017.”
