A CROSSGAR teenager is behind the design of groundbreaking mental health tracker app.

Georgia Grainger’s mobile phone application allows users to track their moods throughout each day.

The aim is to help them analyse trends and predict when they might need more medical help or emotional support.

The 18 year-old designed the app during a free two-week software development programme run by Belfast Metropolitan College and Kainos.

Georgia learnt about how software is designed, built and tested and at the end of the process won the highly coveted ‘Best Progress’ prize out of 80 participants.

As part of her prize she won a Nexus tablet and computer accessories.
