THE funeral has taken place of the young Carryduff man who died after falling off a rooftop in Thailand.

Stephen Clifford (right) was on holiday in the city of Chaing Mai with a group of friends when the tragedy occurred on July 14.

Twenty one year-old Stephen, a former student at St. Patrick’s Grammar School in Downpatrick, had been in the country with a group of friends since the end of May.

Hundreds of mourners attended Requiem Mass last Sunday at The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Carryduff.

Stephen’s grieving parents Rory and Kate, their son Rory and daughter Sian brought him from their Alveston Park home for the funeral mass.

Members of Queen’s University Students’ Union, where Mr. Clifford was an employee, joined his family and friends at the Carryduff church for the funeral service.
