SEAFORDE MotoParc hosted offroad racing with a difference on Saturday, as the Killinchy and District Motorcycle Club held the fifth round of the Quad and Sidecar Ulster Championship.

The first class on the line was the Junior Class 1 for 50cc machines. The star of the class was John Joe Malone, who led all three races from start to finish, taking three wins.

In the Junior Class 2 for 80cc/100cc machines, championship leader, Castlewellan’s Dean Owens, finished 12th in race one after a first corner crash as Rory Farren took first and Daniel Duddy finished second. 

Farren won race two, then finished third in race three, as Owens had two seconds and Duddy placed third in race two, before winning race three.

The Junior Class 3 for 200cc to 250cc machines saw two winners on the day. 

Travis Toye won race one, as Luke Dillon came home in third position, before Dillon won the next two races, as Toye recorded two second placed finishes.

The Clubman Quads were the first adult class with Dean Young taking the honours. 

In the first two races Young had to fight his way through the pack for the two wins, but in race three he took the holeshot and led all race before taking the chequered flag again.

In the first Sidecar rac,e former British Champions and Ulster Championship leaders Neil Campbell and his passenger Ross Graham took the holeshot. 

Campbell and Graham had to settle for second, as they were passed by the eventual winners, Gary Moulds and his passenger Lewis Gray. 

In races two and three, Moulds and Gray led from start to finish taking two wins, as Campbell and Graham took another two second placed finishes.

The final class on the line was for the combined Premier Quads and Semi Expert Quads. 

In the first two races Mark McLernon had two wins ahead of Dean Dillon – who recorded two thirds – with two second placed finishes and Murray Graham, whose first race ended at the halfway stage, before taking fourth in race two. 

In the final race Graham took the holeshot and led for five laps, before being passed by race winner McLernon. 

Dean Dillon came home in second position, with Graham in third and Cowan in fourth position. 

In the Semi Expert class there were three winners, with Josh McKnight taking first, second and fourth place finishes. 

Jack Young had a first and two seconds and Shane Hunter came home in first, third and fourth.
