FOUR local charities have each benefited by £1,920 to mark the centenary of Seaforde Scrap Metals Ltd.

Founded in 1920 by Peter Killen – hence the donation amount – the Farranfad Road based business has been in business for the last 100 years.

Current owner John Killen, who is the grandson of the founder, said that he wished to recognise the

firm’s achievement and made donations last month to St Vincent de Paul, the Salvation Army for their work with the need, Chest, Heart and Stroke as both his parents died of heart attacks and Daisy and Shimna Lodge in Newcastle, run by the NI Cancer Fund for Children.
