BALLYNAHINCH teenager Eoin Teggart has signed for Cliftonville on loan from Portsmouth for the rest of the season.

Teggart signed a new third year scholarship in May last year at Portsmouth. He has also played for Pompey’s U-23 side and made his first team debut against Norwich City in the Leasing.com Trophy last season.

On his first team debut against the Canaries, Teggart was involved in the build-up to two of his side’s three goals as the winger delivered two crosses that ended up falling for Ellis Harrison and Josh Flint to convert.

The 18 year-old was part of the County Down side that reached the SuperCupNI Premier final in 2018.

Teggart made the move to the south coast of England from Cliftonville after featuring in the Reds academy. He has now made the return to Solitude until the end of this season.

Before his initial move to Cliftonville Youth, the winger was part of a highly successful Ballynahinch Youth team that went unbeaten for two seasons in the South Belfast Youth League.

He went on to spend some time at Ridgeway Rovers and Glentoran.

Taggart has also played for Northern Ireland from U-16 to U-19 levels and is an extremely highly rated player.

Cliftonville sit fifth heading into the second half of the Danske Bank Irish Premiership campaign.
