Eileen tops on Assunta’s day

EILEEN Mullen scorched round the wonderfully conditioned Saint Patrick’s Golf Club in 39 points to take Lady Captain Assunta Morgan’s prize on Saturday.

The 26 handicapper had a point to spare over second-placed Angela Kenmore with club President Geraldine Gray taking third place.

Best gross went to 12 handicapper Twyla Gibson with an 84 and the nearest to the hole prizes went to Angela Kenmore( 4th), Renee Wallace (8th), Elizabeth Mageean (11th) and Yvonne Posnett (15th).

The committee prize went to Jackie Elliott with Marie Norton winning the Past Captain’s competition. The Lady Captain’s guest prize went to Ardglass vice-captain Geraldine Mageean

The men’s guest winner was Daniel Taggert with 31 points over 14 holes. On the Thursday before, the Lady Captain hosted the annual Lady Captain’s Mixed Greensomes event with top prize going to Ernie Kenmore and Alison Rooney.
