Drumaness Festival takes place this weekend

7 August 2013

DRUMANESS festival kicks off this Friday.

The three-day extravaganza has something for everyone with organisers promising villagers and visitors are in for a real treat.

The action begins with a festival parade through the heart of the village which is scheduled to start at 7pm. Children will be in fancy dress, while there will also be a number of spectacular floats and a live band.

The festival parade will also include a selection of vintage cars and tractors, transporting spectators back to yesteryear as the superbly maintained vehicles trundle by.

Drumaness cricket ground is

the focus of attention for Saturday’s festival event. There will be a

junior and senior knockout competition, while the ever-popular

bouncy castles are sure to grab the attention of the young and maybe not so young.

Following the fun on the cricket pitch, the entertainment moves indoors for some music at the village’s soccer club.

The final day of the festival is hosted by Drumaness GAC. The action includes a Pun Fada competition, wellie tossing, more bouncy castles and Gaelic and rugby matches.

There will also be a glamorous granny competition with the live entertainment provided by The Bizz.
