Downpatrick Golf Club’s award

DOWNPATRICK Golf Club has received a Northern Ireland Tourist Board award for the quality of its services.

The club is one of the latest to be awarded the Approved Quality and Assurance Golf Award as part of a new all-Ireland initiative from NITB and Failte Ireland.

The scheme was set up by the tourist boards after research indicated that although the courses were excellent, the service was at times patchy and inconsistent.

This scheme sets out to establish minimum standards for the golf industry so that visitors experience a consistency of service throughout their visit, from arrival at the car park and the welcome they receive, to clubhouse facilities and services and standards on the course.
