Double for family act

THE members and guests at Lady Captain’s Day at Crossgar Golf Club on Saturday were very pleasantly surprised to be playing golf at all after the rainfall of the previous two days.

And there was a first for the club when husband and wife Ian and Elizabeth Patterson carried off the main prizes in the men’s and ladies’ competitions.

The lady captain, Dolores Smyth, particularly thanked David and Brian for the tremendous efforts they put in to make the course in such good condition for the competition.

She also thanked all those members and guests who had supported her day and, together with the lovely food supplied before and after the golf, had made the whole day a great success.
