Congregations combine to remember victims of atrocity

AN annual carol service born out of the Loughinisland massacre of 1994 has taken place in Seaforde.

The community carol service was held on Sunday evening in Loughinisland Church of Ireland Parish Church, Seaforde.

The congregation of parishioners from the Seaforde church and the neighbouring St Macartan’s Church in Loughinisland, sang by candlelight. There were also two solos by local singer Joyce Gibson.

It was Seaforde’s turn to host the event, which was developed following the Loughinisland massacre in 1994.

After the service the large congregation retired to the Young Farmer’s Hall for refreshments provided by French’s Cafe and Bistro.
