SAINTFIELD’S Roger Warnock has been presented with a Churchill medallion at a prestigious biennial award ceremony in London.

He was presented with his award by Dame Mary Peters after successfully completing his Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship and was one of 113 recipients.

As part of his Fellowship, Roger travelled to Brazil and the USA to investigate how social innovation can be used to increase levels of entrepreneurship in young unemployed people, with a view to develop new programmes of support across Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom.

“The Travelling Fellowships provide opportunities for British citizens to go abroad on a worthwhile enterprise of their own choosing, with the aim of enriching their lives through wider experience and to bring back the benefit to others in their UK profession or community through sharing the results of their new knowledge,” he explained.
