THE main Christian Aid organiser in Killyleagh and Shrigley, Miss Zena McAllister, has been honoured for her work for the charity.
Miss McAllister was presented with a certificate by the Christian organisation at a special ceremony at Belfast City Hall on Friday.
Christian Aid works to bring lasting change for people living in poverty across the world, regardless of their faith, gender or race.
The certificate marks a connection of almost 60 years. The retired primary school teacher initially started collecting for the charity before becoming the main organiser of the yearly collection in the Killyleagh area.
It was presented to Miss McAllister by the Lord Mayor, Mr Brian Kingston, at a reception in the Lord Mayor’s parlour.
Miss McAllister said she was “honoured’’ to receive the award from Christian Aid.
