Charity hosting upskilling course at Daisy Lodge

7 October 2015

DAISY Lodge in Newcastle will host an up cycling masterclass as a unique charity fundraiser next month.

Participants will be invited to breathe new life into an old table and chair with chalk paint in aid of the Cancer Fund for Children on November 11 at 7.30pm.

After the demonstration, guests will have the opportunity to tap into their creativity by participating in a decoupage workshop. They can then create a unique Christmas craft to take home.

Cancer Fund for Children fundraiser Naomi Braithwaite, said the event was perfect for anyone keen to turn a tired old piece of furniture into something wonderful.

“Funds raised from this event will help The Cancer Fund for children continue to provide practical, emotional and financial support in the family home, community and hospital ward to help families cope with the impact cancer has on their lives,” she said.

“These funds will also support essential services such as free therapeutic breaks at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle.”

The event will be facilitated by The Craft Loft at Annetts in Newcastle, which is run by Phyllis Annett.

Tickets for this unique event cost just £15 with proceeds going to Cancer Fund for Children.  They are available from Alex on 028 9080 5599 or email alex@cancerfundforchildren.com.

Tickets can also be purchased from Annett’s Craft Loft.
