Bryansford much too strong from Clann Derg

Bryansford much too strong from Clann Derg

11 September 2011

THIS was a rather one-sided training session for a physically more powerful and skilful Bryansford team.

'Ford goalkeeper Ryan Brannigan was rarely troubled and Chris Clarke and Niall O'Higgins ruled midfield, allowing Danny Savage a free rein. After a slow start the scores piled up and by half time goals from O'Higgins and David McKibbin had settled the game.

By the three-quarter mark both sets of spectators were wishing the referee would blow the game up as Ford went on a goal feast. Ciaran Rawlinson scored two and there was one apiece for Seamus Brannigan and Savage.

Points rained over and a shell-shocked Clann Derg team had all but surrendered long before the final whistle.

They did manage a consolation point from Conor Quinn, whose sideline punt sailed between the uprights.

Bryansford proved too strong on both their outings to date. It will be a different prospect against the challenge of Warrenpoint and Ballymartin.
