Big turn out for Tyrella one-day event

Big turn out for Tyrella one-day event

6 April 2016

THE East Down Branch of the Pony Club hosted a one-day event on the popular Tyrella course on Easter Monday.

Classes ranged from 1m to 70cms in both three phase and two phase with junior and senior competitions in all. With over 190 entries this year it is proving to be ever more popular with amateurs and more seasoned eventers.

The event takes a lot of preparation and co-operation from the East Down Pony Club members, families and friends and this is much appreciated by the joint District Commissioners, Donna Quail and Alison Bissenden, and the committee.

The organisers would like to thank David Corbett, for hosting the event, the sponsor, Pat Turley from Kingsfield Haylage, the dressage co-ordinator, Rosemary Campbell, and judges Ivor Harper and Mark Robinson; showjumping co-ordinator, Richard, Vicki and Sophie Truesdale, with judges Elaine Watson and Debbie Newbury; and Gail McEwan for setting the cross country course assisted by Robert Bissenden.

David Kirkpatrick, from DK Rustixs portable fences, acted as cross country steward and the very able scorers were Gavin Campbell and Maggie Newsam.

The club also wishes to thank Wynne’s Chip Van and the Corporate Crepe Company for providing the catering on the field.

The East Down Branch of the Pony Club would also like to thank all the competitors who supported their annual event this year.
