BB unit launches drive for fresh batch of recruits

FIRST Boardmills Boys’ Brigade is currently recruiting new members.

The group, which is based in Trinity Presbyterian Church, Boardmills, is recruiting for members age 5-18 for its Anchor Boys, Junior, Company and Senior sections.

The groups meet on Monday evenings in the church hall, and age appropriate activities including games, sport, craft, new skills, outdoor pursuits and Bible teaching are led by church appointed, trained local volunteers.

Victoria Flanagan, BB Development Worker, said due to progression throughout the entire company there are now membership spaces available across all age group sections.

“The Boys’ Brigade can play a major role in a young person’s life,” she said. “Many join at the age of five and remain, progressing through the ranks until they take on leadership roles themselves.  The exciting non-formal learning environment is valued by boys and parents alike.”

The Anchor Boys meet at 6-7.15pm, the Junior Section meets at 7-8.30pm, and the Company and Senior Sections meet at 7-9pm.
