Ambassadors status for local school students

19 December 2012

YEAR 14 drama students from Assumption Grammar School have been appointed as Cultural Ambassadors for drama by the Spring Chickens Intergenerational programme.

The students brought drama, music and song to the senior citizens at Oakridge Nursing Home, presenting themes from the play ‘Melmoth the Wanderer’and performing scenes from ‘The Caucasian Chalk Circle’.

The Spring Chickens Scheme aims to challenge generational stereotypes through the medium of drama and enhance the creative and expressive experiences for senior citizens in the local community.

The students were delighted to win the SEELB Service to the Community award in recognition of their achievement.
