THE family of a Ballynahinch woman who died earlier this year, have raised over £33,000 for Friends of the Cancer Centre.
Adele Joanne Kelly was born to Eric and Joan Burrows on February 14, 1976. Adele attended Ballynahinch Primary School and Ballynahinch High School.
While still at school Adele met her future husband, Gabriel. The couple were married in Edengrove Presbyterian Church on September 10, 1999, and set up home on the Demesne Road, Ballynahinch.
Adele worked in the Millbrook Lodge Hotel, the Saintfield Griddle home bakery and Sunnyside Bakery in Ballynahinch.
Adele and Gabriel were blessed with five boys, and her real passion was for her family, cooking and caring for their every need. Adele attended Edengrove Presbyterian Church, Spa Women’s Institute, The Edge and Magheradroll Parish line dancing. She also loved her family trips to the Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen.
Adele was diagnosed with cancer in February 2017. Over the years Adele and her family organised various events such as coffee mornings and 18th birthday party for her boys, to raise money for Friends of the Cancer Centre.
Adele fought courageously to the end and sadly passed away on March 2 aged 49. Donations in lieu of flowers again went to Friends of the Cancer Centre. A tremendous amount of £11,621.20 was raised showing the respect in which Adele and the family were held in the local community and further afield.
This brought the total amount raised to £33,310.58. The Kelly family wish to thank all who contributed to this tremendous amount.
Adele is survived by her loving husband Gabriel, sons Thomas, Peter, Andrew, and twins Jamie and Ryan. She was the dear daughter of Eric and Joan, and much loved sister of Stephen, Alan and Gavin and Hilary.
